Text Tool creates/edits an Text Object.

The text object can be created by either by selecting the Text Tool, then clicking the place on the edited image and typing, or by pasting the text previously placed in the clipboard from some other place.

The text can contain new-line characters. Simple text-formatting is available through the toolbar.
